2nd Saturdays AT Casket Arts

 
 

Every month you can enjoy a free, casual, laid-back opportunity to visit artists’ studios and view current work at the Casket Arts campus. Studio 218 will be open (unless otherwise posted here), 11 am – 4 pm throughout the year on the dates below. There are always some other studios open throughout Casket, and you can also find open studios in other Northeast Arts District locations—Northrop King and Solar Arts are open every Saturday, and California Buildings is also open on Second Saturdays. No appointment needed. I often have some live music in the studio, too (usually solo guitar or piano). This is an ideal way to explore the local arts community, especially if you dislike the crowds of Art-a-Whirl and other big events.

Casket Arts (including the Carriage House and NE Sculpture Gallery/Factory) is located in the old Northwest Casket Company factory at 681 17th Ave NE, Minneapolis.

September and October Second Saturdays feature my first Studio Inventory Clearance Sale, 30% off nearly everything in the studio (or on my website) for items $50+. (If you find something on the website and want the discount, you need to come to the studio or contact me, you can not get the discount price through the online shop.)

I have a very special guest for our September Open Studio event at Casket Arts. In addition to some new paintings (including my first works using acrylic alternatives to oil/cold was), I am very excited to have one of my very favorite area pianists, Kavyesh Kaviraj, perform in the studio for the first time. Kavy is highly versatile so he might play just about anything, including some original works from his debut recording, Fables. Kavy will play from about 1 -2:30 pm.
